Effortless Locks

Hello Monday!

We are super excited to have a new blog to share with you guys! Our goal with The Style Profile is to inspire readers with ideas on hair, makeup, fashion, and other tips to help you stay up-to-date with the latest trends and also to keep you feeling great about yourself. We will also be sharing some of our work that we do for brides and other events.

In case you don't know us yet, we are Natalie Gordon and Rachel Schrader of Avenue 42 Style Studio located in Richmond, Virginia. We specialize in hair and makeup for special events but have also expanded and opened our own studio in the heart of the city. Click on our picture (taken by our wonderful friend, Katie Stoops) on the right to connect to our website to see all the services we offer!

Today we want to talk about how to get the best messy hair. We know that sounds like an oxymoron but this fall we are seeing a lot of "messy" hairstyles that give that effortless look and go great with any occasion...plus, they are super easy to do!

What you will need:
6 regular sized bobby pins
3 large bobby pins

Style time: 3 minutes

Step 1: Sprinkle a moderate amount of Lanza Powder Up Texturizer at the root of your hair

Step 2: Back comb to achieve extra volume and shape

Step 3: Start at the side of your head that is the furthest from your part and twist toward the other side

Step 4: Insert three normal sized bobby pins to secure

Step 5: On your part side, begin twisting toward the back and meet the other twist and secure with three more bobby pins

Step 6: Gather all hair and twist into a bun and secure with two large bobby pins

We will be back for more styling tips! xo!
